Professional crimping, assembly and disconnection tools for MC4-type solar connectors, ensuring secure, gas-tight terminations in PV installations.
A PV connector is only as good as the crimp inside it. The tooling in this category exists to make that crimp repeatable: a ratchet crimping tool with a matched die for a full-section gas-tight joint, a stripping tool that cuts the insulation without nicking the conductor, and wrenches sized to the connector body so a mated pair is released by the housing rather than by pulling on the cable.
Using the wrong die is the single most common cause of an out-of-spec joint — the contact will pass a pull test and still measure high on contact resistance, which shows up later as heat. Order the stripping and crimping tools matched to the conductor sizes you actually use.

View DetailsThe die forms the contact barrel around the conductor to a specific cross-section. A die that is too large leaves voids between strands and the barrel; too small and it over-compresses and can crack the barrel. Either way the joint can pass a pull test while having poor electrical contact — the failure shows up as local heating under load.
Not for a rated installation. General-purpose crimpers do not produce the controlled compression a PV contact requires, and the joint will not be within the connector's tested contact-resistance envelope. Use tooling matched to the contact.
The C4A wrench, sized to the connector body. Unscrew the gland nut and release the locking tabs with the wrench rather than pulling the pair apart by the cable, which loads the crimp and the seal. A separate multi-use wrench covers the CN4U and fuse connector bodies.
